	07.08.21	Henrik Knoblauch [henrik_k]	Back again to Balaton Airport for a short term visit of Lake Heviz. Lake Heviz is a thermal lake which is about 26-30 °C the whole year long. Big fun for the Kids and of course ourselves. Taxi is fixed price 25€ one way and takes about 30 minutes. Not much to say about the airport itself. Very uncomplicated, AVGAS truck available and kids are allowed to take a fun ride on the baggage truck round the apron. Be aware of shortened operational times, because the lack of commercial traffic. Turn around in 30 minutes possible. Category: Fuelstop Romantic getaway Beach/Nature/Camping

Not at least the small bar in the terminal will be open or any car rental desks. If you need a taxi you should organize it in advance. Quick turnaround possible. 	31.05.16	Henrik Knoblauch [henrik_k]	Excellent services, very friendly staff. No "handling hassle". Transparent price list with no hidden costs on the airports homepage. Quick turnarounds (e.g. full stop/customs) seems to be possible, cause all administrative tasks (payment, customs, fuel, flightplan) can be managed from the apron. No other services are available (e.g. car rental, taxi, money exchange, meteo) if there is no scheduled traffic. If you need a GA friendly accommodation check for the small hotel http://www.villaplattensee.hu/. Near the airport and directly at the lake balaton. Free pickup, good WLAN, flexible cancellation policy (you need to call them directly and advise them you will come by aircraft), bike rental at the hotel. Family friendly beach and the whole set of infrastructure is in walking distance (<15min). Be aware of "bed changing" days in high season when planning transfer time to the airport. There is only one street which leads from the "city" to the connecting highway (and also the airport), which is crowded by all the tourists. Delays (traffic jam) of more than one hour are possible according to the airport staff. My grade: Excellent airport for General Aviation! 	24.09.06	Otto Braasch [obraasch]	Former soviet air base - keeping some of its flavour but offering friendly service. Tower phraseology slightly nonstandard at times. Customs on field for easy access into and out of Hungary. Taxiways somewhat shabby. Entry to Balaton region with famous spa bath at Heviz offering thermal lake and medical waters.
