No handling needed. Older main airport for St Lucia, most traffic comes in on the other side of the island to Hewanorra now. No Avgas. They were training new controllers and assigned us the NDB RWY 9 "cloud break". Final approach comes in over the bay and the runway is nestled between terrain on both sides. Very small ramp area, recommend coordinating parking during peak seasons.

Customs was pretty simple in and out; standard procedure bringing 4 Gendecs. AIS is airside up in the tower. When approaching the terminal from the ramp, stairs to the tower are on the far right. Door left of this is departures, two doors left is arrivals. Outside the terminal building across the street is a beach bar with drinks and light food, but don't plan to get quick service - it's on island time.

Bring a flight plan on departure with Gendecs. Head to the security desk at the entrance, they'll take you through departure doors to customs for exit stamps for all passengers and crew. Back out departure, through security screening to departures room. Out the departure door, left around the corner and up the stairs to tower for filing and weather briefing. Down to the ramp, preflight, and contact tower prior to start.
Overall a fairly straightforward in and out, as it should be.

Nice place in the carribean. No Parking, no Avgas. Mr. Squeze has a little mecanic shop and a few parking spots for 10.-- US$. His phone numb er is: +1 758 716 0904. Aks for the nearest Hotel at the lagune. Most of the hotels and guest houses have only minimal standard. A special tip is also the Marigot Bay 6 Nm south of Castries.
